—OVERVIEW

The Interstate Network has had a strong

year defined by some key operational and

people focused achievements. Pleasingly,

overall interstate volume increased by

more than 5 percent. This was supported

by an excellent harvest season nationwide

resulting in strong bulk and containerised

rural export volumes. While the economic

downturn in Western Australia has reduced

intermodal volume demand on the East

West corridor, this has been somewhat

offset by increased intermodal volumes

on the North South corridor, including

the introduction of a new customer

on this network.

We see our future growth being

underpinned by stable reliability

and continued increases in service

performance levels, as well as supporting

rail operators with a focused business

development effort.

INTERSTATE

NETWORK

—YEAR HIGHLIGHTS

A SAFETY FOCUS

The Interstate team reported the

significant milestone of achieving a

year without any injuries resulting in lost

time. This is a great achievement, driven

by a cultural change and leadership

throughout the business and initiatives

such as the Fatal and Severe Risk

Program, quarterly Safety Awards, and

proactive safety reporting and sharing

of safety innovations.

IMPROVING CUSTOMER SERVICE

Improvements to service were noted

in our annual Customer Satisfaction

Survey. Our customers also indicated

higher levels of trust, respect and an

improvement in our problem solving

abilities.
