Page Background

Our customers acknowledged our

professional and swift response to

the large number of extreme weather

events which impacted our network

during the year.

Working efficiently and collaboratively

with one of our customers helped

ensure the Barnawartha and Bromelton

intermodal terminals were commissioned

on time, supporting this customer to

enter the North South intermodal market.

We’ve seen improvements in staff

engagement, planning and coordination

and safety focus thanks to the rollout

of ’Visual Management Centres’ to 23

provisioning centres and four project

delivery teams. These provide visual

representations of all work and its status

and have ultimately resulted in improved

service levels and customer satisfaction.

DRIVING EFFICIENCY

We progressed six crossing loop

extensions between Melbourne and

Adelaide to support the future delivery

of 1800m train services returning from

Adelaide to Melbourne. The $15 million

Australian Government funded project

helps support a 20 percent productivity

improvement for our customers by

allowing an increase in train length from

1500m to 1800m. Thanks to efficient

project management, we are delivering

a loop extension at Dimboola, Victoria,

within budget and in addition to the

original scope of works for five loop

extensions.
