—WODONGA

INTERMODAL

PARK PROJECT,

VICTORIA

Our specialised rail knowledge

has been put to good use,

allowing our customer to

successfully commission a

new freight terminal in

Barnawatha, Victoria.

Stage 1 of the Wodonga

Intermodal Park Project saw

us retained to provide project

management and inventory

support, as well track and

signal design and signals

installation. This support allowed

the northern and southern

loop connections to the new

terminal to be commissioned

in November 2016.

We are delivering Stage 2 of the

project which will provide a high

speed crossover to the south of

the terminal connection, greatly

reducing the section length

and increasing capacity for all

operators. This stage will be

commissioned in August 2017.

—BROMELTON

INTERMODAL

FACILITY AND

QUARRY

Our support has seen a new

intermodal facility and an

existing quarry linked with

the Interstate network in

Bromelton, Queensland.

The main line Bromelton Quarry

connection required our project

management support and we

were called upon to assist

with inventory support and

signalling and communications

design and installation for the

Bromelton Intermodal Facility.

The Bromelton Quarry siding

(previously known as the Blue

Metal Siding) is a northbound

connection although it is able to

operate to the south via a run-

around at the Bromelton Loop.

Both connections were

successfully delivered

in late January 2017.

—ADELAIDE -

TARCOOLA

RE-RAILING

ACCELERATION

UPGRADE

PROJECT

A major upgrade to the East

West line between Adelaide

and Tarcoola will allow our

customers to run faster and

heavier trains on this stretch

of the Interstate network.

The $252 million project is

fully funded by the Australian

Government and involves the

re-railing of approximately

600 kilometres of track as

well as upgrades to level

crossings, turnouts and bridge

strengthening to allow faster

and heavier trains.

Steel for the new rails is being

sourced from Whyalla and

our upgraded Port Augusta

Flashbutt welding facility is

preparing the rail for installation.

The project started in mid-2016

and is scheduled for completion

in mid-to-late 2019.
