Page Background

We successfully created and recruited 60

new positions for the government funded

rail line upgrade project between Adelaide

and Tarcoola in South Australia. Through

the delivery of the works a further 130

contract roles are expected to be created

through contractors and suppliers.

We’ve recognised a number of employees

who have excelled in living our company

values via our quarterly Values Awards

where our CEO selects the winner after

nominations have been shortlisted by

business area representatives.

We conducted a business acumen training

pilot with a broad range of roles across

our business. This training provides insight

into using relevant financial data in day

to day decision making, and understanding

the organisational strategy and financial

objectives to engage employees and teams

in their contribution to the bottom line.

Our Leadership Framework has been

focused on the core work of our Business

Unit leaders and, consistent with our

company value of Active Engagement,

enhancing their capabilities to improve

the dynamics within their teams to

maximise workforce input.

We had a strong focus on equipping

our leaders with the tools to help improve

engagement with their teams. This included

training to improve active listening, increase

clarity of the work of roles in the business

and ensure that regular performance

discussions are held. We also highlighted

positive leadership behaviours through

our reward and recognition programs to

share positive examples throughout the

workforce.

Two enterprise agreements were

successfully negotiated –Australian

Rail Track Corporation (NSW) Enterprise

Agreement 2016 and Australian Rail Track

Corporation Enterprise Agreement 2017.

Negotiations are ongoing to replace

ARTC’s other enterprise agreements.
