Track machine work – Taree NSW to Acacia Ridge QLD – July 2022

ARTC continually operates track machines across the network to improve track conditions and allow safer, more reliable, and quieter rail operations.

A rail grinding machine will be operating between Taree NSW and Acacia Ridge QLD from 6:00pm Monday 4 July through until 6:00pm Tuesday 19 July 2022.

This work will be completed in periods when fewer trains operate allowing the work to be undertaken safely and efficiently, meaning that there will be some late-night and overnight work.

The rail grinding machine will be stabled for essential maintenance at Mt George, Taree, Kendall, Wauchope, Kempsey, Nambucca Heads, Raleigh, Coramba, Grafton, Nammoona, Kyogle and Tamrukum at various time throughout the works. While this maintenance is being completed the engine will continue running to power the required equipment. This allows us to check that all the components of the machine are operating correctly. To mitigate noise, we will stable away from homes and buildings where possible.
