Track machine work – Singleton to Breeza / Muswellbrook to Bylong – July 2022

ARTC continually operates track machines across the network to improve track conditions and allow safer, more reliable, and quieter rail operations.

A rail grinding machine will be operating between Singleton, Breeza and Bylong NSW from 6:00am Saturday 23 July through until 6:00pm Tuesday 29 July 2022.

This work will be completed in periods when fewer trains operate allowing the work to be undertaken safely and efficiently, meaning that there will be some late-night and overnight work.

The rail grinding machine will be stabled at Singleton, Muswellbrook, Denman, Kerrabee, Bylong, Coggan Creek, Scone, Murrurundi, Willow Tree and Werris Creek at various time throughout the works.

Stabling will include machine maintenance at Singleton, Muswellbrook or Denman from 6:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday 23 July 2022. While this maintenance is being completed the engine will continue running to power the required equipment. This allows us to check that all the components of the machine are operating correctly. To mitigate noise, we will stable away from homes and buildings where possible.
