Track machine stabling – Scone and Muswellbrook

We continually operate track machines across the network to improve track conditions and allow safer, more reliable, and quieter rail operations.
This means track machines need to be stabled in sidings for routine maintenance.
The machines will be stabled at Scone and Muswellbrook from 7:00am to 5:00pm Saturday 30 and Sunday 1 December.
You may notice increased noise during maintenance as our machines need to keep idling so we can check that all the electrical components are operating correctly.
To reduce noise impacts, we will stable at a location away from residents where possible.
