Rail Maintenance Works, Blakiston SA October 2024

We will be completing essential track maintenance and improvement works at Blakiston Road Level Crossing in Blakiston (near Nairne).
Works will commence from 10:00am on Saturday 19 October until mid-night on Sunday 20 October 2024. This will be day and evening work with work ceasing at approximately 10:00pm on Saturday night and recommencing at approximately 10:00am Sunday morning. We anticipate completion of the work on Sunday by approximately 10:00pm but have allowed time for any unplanned interruptions.
The Blakiston Road Level Crossing will be closed for the duration of the works until surface upgrade is completed.
We will begin mobilising to sites and completing minor preparation work prior to the work commencing and there will be site clean-up in the days following. All preparation and clean-up work will be completed during standard working hours.
How could this work affect you?
It will be noisy at times, there may be some traffic impacts, light towers will be used for any night works, and some dust may be generated. Please be assured that we will implement measures to manage and minimise these impacts on the community where possible.
We will turn off machinery when not in use, arrange work in stages and/or phase the equipment used at one time to reduce noise impacts where possible.
Light towers will be required to ensure a safe work environment during the night. We will position the light towers so that light is directed away from residences.
Temporary signage will safely guide all road users around any changed traffic conditions. Please keep to the speed limits and follow the direction of the traffic controllers and signs where appropriate.
