Around the Clock Rail Maintenance Work – Picton, NSW

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will be undertaking around the clock asset removal works between Maldon and Picton Yard from 10:30pm Friday 21 April until 8:00 pm Sunday 23 April 2023. These works will be performed during the April rail maintenance shutdown from Chullora to Yass to ensure a safe working environment for our staff and contractors. There will be additional work to remove the materials from Picton Yard outside the rail shutdown but this will be performed during standard working hours.

There may be minor traffic impacts, light towers will be used at night, it will be noisy at times, and some dust may be generated. Please be assured that we will implement measures to manage and minimise these impacts on the community where possible.

Throughout the shutdown there will be a rail vehicle operating continuously between Maldon and Picton Rail Yard. Additionally, there will be a materials train supported by front end loaders operating as per the times below, which will likely be the noisiest periods.

Planned Train Loading Times at Maldon:

Saturday 6am – 9am, 6pm – 9pm

Sunday 12am – 3am, 6am – 9am, 12pm – 3pm

Planned Train Unloading Times at Picton Yard:

Saturday 9:30am – 11:30am, 3:30pm – 5:30pm, 9:30pm – 11:30pm

Sunday 3:30am – 5:30am, 9:30am – 11:30am, 3pm – 6pm
