Rail Maintenance Work – Adelaide to Melbourne
September 30 - October 2
We will be carrying out essential track maintenance and improvement works this September/October during a major full line shutdown from Adelaide, South Australia to Melbourne, Victoria.
Works will commence 06:00am Monday 30th September and continue through to 6:00pm Wednesday 2nd October 2024 including nightworks.
We will begin mobilising to site and carrying out minor preparation work during normal working hours in the days and weeks prior to the shutdown work commencing. Site clean-up will commence in the days following the shutdown and will also be completed during normal working hours.
There may be some traffic impacts, and it will be noisy at times. Please be assured that we will implement measures to manage and minimise these impacts on the community where possible. The movement of materials and machinery on site may result in the generation of dust. We will take practical measures to reduce the amount of dust produced by our works where possible.
We will turn off machinery when not in use, arrange work in stages and/or phase the equipment used at one time to reduce noise impacts where possible.
