My position focuses on ensuring the company’s compliance with laws and regulations, advising the Board of Directors and Executive on legal issues in the context of strategic decision making, and implementing decisions of the Board and Executive in accordance with the law.”
Gavin is General Counsel and Company Secretary for ARTC with responsibility for:
- ARTC’s legal and corporate governance framework
- Corporate risk framework and reporting obligations
- Integrity and ethics awareness and reporting obligations
- Insurance and internal audit management
- All matters relating to the Company’s Board of Directors, Board Committees and Executive Team
Prior to joining ARTC, he practiced with large national law firms in Sydney and Vancouver, advising major corporates on insurance, contracts, corporate governance and other commercial matters.
Gavin holds a Masters in Law and is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Gavin’s earlier roles with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the New South Wales State Ombudsman fuelled a long-standing commitment to the community and he continues to work with a number of different organisations in a personal capacity.
