ARTC appoints Kylie Gallasch as new CFO

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has announced the appointment of Kylie Gallasch as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Ms Gallasch has been promoted to the position following the retirement of Andrew Bishop and brings with her an exceptional track record in finance and leadership roles, including most recently as ARTC’s Group Executive Corporate Services & Safety, and prior to that as General Manager Financial Services.

A Fellow of CPA Australia and a Director on the Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB), Ms Gallasch will be responsible for all finance-related matters across the company, including strategic financial planning, forecasting and accounting, as well as ARTC’s activities with major investors, debt capital markets and ratings agencies.

ARTC Chief Executive Officer Mark Campbell said the company is thrilled to appoint Ms Gallasch to guide the company’s financial functions.

“Kylie is an outstanding leader who has played a pivotal part in helping ARTC grow into one of the largest freight rail network operators  in Australia,” Mr Campbell said.

“Having contributed so much to ARTC and indeed the broader rail industry for more than two decades, Kylie will play a critical role in the overall management and operational direction of the company as we embark on an exciting future delivering essential transport services to the people and businesses of Australia.”

Established in 1998 to modernise rail in Australia, ARTC is one of the largest freight rail network owners and managers in the country. Employing more than 1,800 people, ARTC maintains and operates 8,500km of the nation’s rail network in five states, managing the transit of around 450 passenger and freight trains every day across NSW, Victoria, Queensland, SA and WA.

Over the past 15 years, ARTC has invested more than $7 billion to deliver key transport infrastructure projects to enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of Australia’s rail network to help underpin the national economy.
