Just before 8am this morning, an intermodal freight train caused another freight train to derail as it collided with its rear, causing four wagons to derail.
There were no injuries and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau are on site and investigating.
ARTC is focused on clearing the track as quickly as possible and is working with SA Police and Passenger Transport Services to clear two level crossings at Leader Street and Victoria Street as quickly as possible which are currently activated.
We recognise the inconvenience that this is causing motorists in the area and will provide updates on further developments.
