Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) today welcomed the Australian Government’s Adelaide Rail Freight Movement Study.
The Adelaide Rail Freight Movement Study highlights that the existing freight rail alignment will have the capacity to handle expected freight traffic up until at least 2025. It also outlines potential options for the development of the freight rail network through Adelaide beyond 2025.
The Government has referred the report to Infrastructure Australia for further analysis.
ARTC welcomes the referral of the report to Infrastructure Australia as it is the key body tasked with advising State and Federal Governments on infrastructure development.
ARTC looks forward to cooperating with Infrastructure Australia and providing any assistance requested in reviewing the findings.
The Adelaide Rail Freight Movement Study represents an important step forward in the ongoing development of the interstate freight rail network in the interests of Adelaide, South Australia and the Nation.
